Frequently Asked Questions

Here you can find answers to the questions we are asked most often about Daxtro technology, installation, applications, products and support.

If you cannot find the information you need, contact our team and tell us about your water system, the issue you want to address and the approximate size of the installation.

Technology

1. How does Daxtro technology work?

Daxtro generates a proprietary multi-frequency signal through a control unit. A transmitting element installed on the outside of the pipe transfers this signal to the water network without coming into direct contact with the water.

Once transferred, the signal propagates throughout the system in both directions and continues to act even when the water is standing.

2. What water-system problems does Daxtro help address?

Daxtro technology is designed to help counteract the effects of:

  • limescale;
  • rust and corrosion;
  • biofilm;
  • bacterial proliferation, including Legionella and Pseudomonas;
  • algae in relevant applications such as pools, tanks and water circuits.

The exact configuration depends on the application, system size and operating conditions.

3. Does Daxtro alter the composition of the water?

No. Daxtro does not add salt or chemical substances and does not remove the minerals naturally present in the water. The treatment acts through a physical principle while preserving the water's natural composition.

4. Does Daxtro use salt or chemicals?

No. No salt, no chemical dosing, no filters, no cartridges, no consumables. Nothing is added to the water and nothing is removed from it.

Because there is no dosing and no regeneration cycle, Daxtro consumes no water and produces no discharge or chemical residue.

5. How is Daxtro different from a traditional water softener?

Daxtro and traditional water softeners use different treatment principles.

Daxtro uses a proprietary multi-frequency physical treatment and does not add salt or replace minerals in the water. It is designed to help counteract limescale, corrosion, biofilm and bacterial proliferation while preserving the natural composition of the water.

6. Does Daxtro work when the water is not flowing?

Yes. The signal is generated continuously and keeps acting even when the water is standing. Stagnation is when water systems are most at risk, so continuous action matters most in the periods when nothing is being drawn off.

7. Is Daxtro technology patented?

Yes. Daxtro's multi-frequency technology is patented. The technology is developed in Switzerland through ongoing research, engineering and product development.

8. What certifications and declarations are associated with Daxtro?

Daxtro has the following certifications: CE (Europe), FCC (United States), UKCA (United Kingdom), ISO 9001 (quality management).

In addition, Daxtro products are Swiss Made: developed and manufactured in Giubiasco, Switzerland. Swiss Made is a declaration of origin rather than a certification - which is why we list it separately.

Installation and operation

9. How is Daxtro installed?

Daxtro is installed on the outside of the pipe. The transmitting element is fitted around the pipe without cutting into it, so there is no plumbing work, no modification to the existing installation, and no need to interrupt the system while it is fitted.

10. Which pipe materials are compatible with Daxtro?

Daxtro technology can be installed on pipes made of metal, copper, plastic, multilayer and other commonly used materials.

11. Where should the Daxtro device be installed?

On the water system you want to protect: the correct installation point depends on the layout (how that system is plumbed), size and purpose of the water system.

The signal travels through the water in both directions, so a single unit typically protects a connected network. Where a system has separate circuits, long dead legs or poor circulation, more than one unit may be specified - which is why every installation begins with understanding your water system.

For the correct positioning and model selection, follow the product-specific installation guidance or contact Daxtro or an authorised distribution partner.

12. Does Daxtro require consumables?

No consumables. No salt, no filters, no cartridges, nothing to dose or replace. Nothing to buy after installation. We recommend a periodic operational check to confirm the unit is running correctly.

13. How quickly can results be expected?

There is no single universal timeframe. Results can depend on factors such as the condition of the existing system, water characteristics, system size, operating conditions and the issue being addressed. For application-specific expectations, contact Daxtro with details of the installation.

14. Does Daxtro help with limescale that is already present?

Daxtro multi-frequency technology is designed to help reduce and remove existing limescale, prevent new formation, and counteract the effects of limescale within water systems.

System protection and water hygiene

15. Does Daxtro help protect against corrosion?

Yes. Daxtro is designed to help counteract the effects of corrosion in water systems, supporting the long-term protection and reliability of pipework and equipment.

16. What effect does Daxtro have on biofilm?

Daxtro helps counter biofilm - the environment where Legionella and Pseudomonas thrive - acting continuously on the entire water system without interrupting its operation.

17. Does Daxtro help with Legionella and Pseudomonas?

Yes. Daxtro helps counter biofilm - the environment where Legionella and Pseudomonas thrive - and helps reduce bacterial proliferation, acting continuously on the water system even when the water is standing.

These capabilities apply to the models designed for water hygiene: WAVE, HEALTH and CLEAN DROP 2.

18. Does Daxtro replace disinfection in pools, spas or healthcare facilities?

No. Daxtro is an additional layer of system protection that works alongside your existing treatment - it does not replace it.

Products and support

19. Which Daxtro model is right for my system?

The Daxtro range covers eight models: CLEAN, PURE, CLASSIC, CARE, PREMIUM, WAVE, HEALTH and CLEAN DROP 2. The operating principle is the same across the range - what changes is the device best suited to your application.

The right model depends on the type of system, its size and how the water circulates. That is why every installation starts with a free preliminary study: tell us about your water system, the issue you want to address and the approximate size of the installation, and our technical team recommends the most suitable configuration.

20. Where can I buy Daxtro products and get technical support?

Daxtro products are available through a growing network of distribution partners.

For product selection, technical documentation, installation guidance, warranty information or support, contact Daxtro or visit the Distributors section of www.daxtro.swiss.
